Stakeholders heed SERA Focus Area team's call to address food security concerns
The SERA Food, Health and Nutrition (FHN) Focus Area team recently held a workshop aimed at forming a collaborative team to improve food security issues in southern Africa. The aim was to draw on the expertise of all relevant role players in addressing food security issues in South Africa.

ACGT helps plot malaria research trajectory at 2010 SAMI Conference
The ACGT was recently represented at the annual SAMI (South African Malaria Initiative) Conference 2010 in Cape St Francis. The meeting was followed by an open SAMI Steering Committee Meeting. The main purpose of the Conference was to review the progress of SAMI-funded projects.
 
Collaboration in Human Language Technologies spurs national network
The first National HLT Network event organised by the Human Language Technology Research Group at the CSIR Meraka Institute - which began as a flagship collaborative initiative of the Digital@SERA Focus Area - attracted 85 participants from government, academia and industry.
