SERA - the Southern Education & Research Alliance - is an inclusive strategic alliance between the CSIR and the University of Pretoria whose purpose is to strengthen the National System of Innovation and contribute to South Africa's international competitiveness. SERA has significant educational, research and technology transfer competence and infrastructure.
Through its activities, SERA is undertaking innovative research, creating opportunities for the substantial expansion of existing international technology and business linkages, and creating an engine for economic growth that is unrivalled in the southern hemisphere.
